Does your site need updating?

All the search engines have different ways to decide what site is going to be on the top of their list.  From years of experience I can tell you, it takes a lot of things to be done correctly to do it.  Most website owners know that keywords and descriptions are needed.. But that alone will not do it. They are just part of the task. We find that search engines like the pages saved and named for searching. That means search engine friendly URLs are needed.   The last key part and a very “Major” item is the changing of relevant content.  We find the search engines rate sites that keep changing content higher than sites than a site that that does an update to it’s content ever year or so.   And with the old way of web site design it was hard to do that unless you have someone on staff that can edit your website and change the content to keep it fresh.  Now we have programs on the server that help you manage the pages or contents of your website.   The name of the programs that do this are referred to as “Content Management System” CMS for short.

Coastland Technologies has been working with the Joomla CMS.  This is the program that the Coastland Tech website is done with.  This program can be installed from your website control panel install scripts.  The basic concepts are setting up the look/layout for the site and filling it with information.   Once it is setup the adding of new data or stuff to your site is like typing an email. You open the article manager and type your information and save.  You do not need to know any web design to do it. Also Joomla has the ability to have other packages installed to extend it functions.  Blog, commerce, community, forums, weather to name a few...

I have created some free Joomla templates for anyone to download and use. I have put them on the Coastland Technologies site.  As a way to help my customers get their Joomla CMS going.  I understand that doing something like setting up a new CMS and replacing your website could be a bit intimidating.  So let me help.
