Neverbend Estates are part of a 60 acre farm along the main channel of the Tennessee River near Dayton, Tennessee in Rhea County. Historic Hiawassee Island and the North mouth of the Hiawasse River are directly across the river from the property and provide outstanding views.

This property is blessed with some of the most beautiful views and wildlife habitat in this region. The river's edge is a part of the Hiawassee Wildlife Refuge. Directly across the river is a stone bluff with at Bald Eagle nesting site managed by the TWRA. At least once a day one can see one or more of these great eagles soaring in the sky . There are two large water fowl preserves in the immediate area which are planted with crops to attract migratory waterfowl. These shores are on the path of a major North American waterfowl migratory route that goes from Mexico to Canada. This is a bird watchers paradise with a huge number of species represented at different times of the year. In February the fields are literally carpeted with Sand Hill Cranes.

This area is also rich in Tennessee history. In 1803, Return J. Meigs was selected as liason to the Cherokee Indian nation. He was the United States Agent to the Indians and he held this position for many years becoming a firm and trusted friend of the Cherokee. Meigs County Tennessee (which is directly across the river from this site) was named after Return Meigs. Meigs is buried in a stone enclosure in an historic cemetary adjacent to my land. Meig's last wish was to be buried so he could "see" down the mouth of the Hiawassee River forever because it was the most beautiful spot he had ever seen in Tennessee.

This is a supremely rare opportunity to buy river bottom property looking down both the beautiful Tennessee and Hiwassee Rivers. Click here for the next page of Neverbend.com next page.
